Master Juan M. Meza teaches San Soo at his Whittier school just as Lo Sifu Chin Siu Dek (Grandmaster Jimmy H. Woo) taught him. His goal is to bring each student to his or her maximum potential.
Classes emphasize personal defense and instills the skill and confidence needed in order to defend yourself should the need arise. While being urged to excel, the safety and the well-being of other students is a main concern in all of our classes. Junior students are taught on a less intense basis with the emphasis on skill, concentration, self-confidence, fun, and the building of human character.
In addition to self-defense, students learn San Soo forms that improve and refine balance and coordination. Students can also learn traditional weapons.
Junior and adult classes are taught in open groups, which are formed on an ongoing basis. Students start at the white belt level and progress through the levels of yellow, green, brown, and black belt. Black belt students can achieve the level of master after many years of advanced study.
Students may enroll on a monthly basis. There are no long term contract requirements. The junior student may enroll with written permission from either parent or a legal guardian.
Please feel free to visit the school during class time and ask questions. The instructors are always happy to discuss enrollment with you at any time.
